Whether you are remodeling or building a new home, Excel Cabinets is the smart choice for your kitchen and bath needs.

Design and Installation Process

Excel Cabinets has built a reputation of quality, service, reliability and affordability that is second to none in Northern Utah. Commitment to these values resulted in Excel Cabinets receiving the Ivory Homes “Supplier of the Year Award” in 2008. Numerous other design awards as well as our work with Habitat for Humanity have set us apart as the cabinet and countertop supplier of choice among builders and remodelers along the Wasatch Front.

After visiting our web site take an opportunity to visit our showroom in Salt Lake City to see our products first hand. Meet with one of our professional designers who can make your cabinetry expectations a reality.

Remodeling projects can be a rewarding journey to an exciting new living space or a frustrating trial with disappointing results.  Excel’s professional team want to make sure your remodeling expectations are exceeded in every way.  Whether you are doing it yourself or having us do it for you, our team of experienced designers and installers can make your purchasing experience a satisfying one.

Step 1: Research

You have already taken the first step in your design process by just investigating this web site.  Cabinetry projects can get more involved than other types of home purchases because of the number of different products involved (cabinets, counters, appliances, floor and wall coverings, lighting, plumbing fixtures, etc.) as well as the number of options and color choices within each product category.

We encourage you to gather information on the web, talk to your friends and neighbors, visit our showroom or visit model homes.  Get an idea of what is available and what your individual needs and likes and dislikes are.

Step 2: Budget

Next you will want to establish a budget.  A visit our extensive showroom to meet with one of our experienced designers can help you determine what products will realistically fit into your budget.  With our wide variety of products at different price points we can assure you a great product at a great price that is within your budget.  Don’t be fooled into thinking one of the big box building supply stores has the best price.  At Excel you can get the professional service and quality you expect at prices below the big box stores.

Another misconception is that to get great quality you have to purchase from a local custom cabinet shop.  The opposite is often true.  Excel cabinetry is manufactured by large national cabinet companies who spend millions of dollars on the latest finishing equipment and woodworking technology.  Small custom shops come and go but the manufacturers we work with have been around for decades.

Step 3: Design

Next a review of your plans or a visit to your job site takes place.  Your designer will custom design your cabinetry to fit your space by using a sophisticated computer design process that allows you to see the finished project as if you were standing in the room itself.  From the design and consultations with your designer the details of your project are finalized.

Cabinet and countertop ordering can take as long as 4 weeks so it is important to have the design process complete before construction begins.  Your designer will review the schedule with you to make sure there are no delays from the time you start your project until you are finished.

Step 4: Construction

Construction is the next step.  If you are building a new house the design process and ordering should be completed 4-6 week in advance of when you will need your cabinetry and counter installation.

If you are remodeling you may choose to have your own contractor perform the demolition and construction, you may decide to do it yourself or you may want one of our experienced craftsman to perform the work.  Regardless you should always choose to have our experienced delivery and installation team deliver and install your cabinets and countertops.

Cabinetry and counter installation requires specialized knowledge and tools to perform correctly.  As handy as you or your contractor may be the installation is best left up to the professional who does it 8 hours a day 5 days a week.  This also allows us to make sure you are completely satisfied with the final project.  Installation of the cabinets and counters can take anywhere from one to seven days depending on the scope of the job and the types of materials chosen.

How can we help you?

“My wife and I are building a new home. My wife was very particular about the cabinets in our kitchen and I was worried about the budget. Tom with Excel spent a significant amount of time to find the perfect solution that satisfied both of our needs. When it came to installation, Eddie went the extra mile to make sure that everything was perfect. Couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. I would highly recommend them.”
