My uncle was a gourmet chef in the 30’s and 40’s and taught me how to cook when I was 12 years old. He was the head janitor at the old Salt Palace due to better pay than cooks were making in the early 70’s in Salt Lake City. When I told him of the school offer he said not to get in that profession so I went to work at a kitchen design center instead and have not regretted my decision. I design every kitchen as if I was cooking in it. I take personal pride in each and every kitchen that I do.
In my years at Chris and Dicks (29 years) I was the top salesman in 28 of the 29 years. In the last 3 years I had sales in excess of 1.25 million dollars in each year. I was manager for 2 ½ years but decided that the sales aspect of the job was suited best for me.
The past 8 years I have been specializing in floor to ceiling design work with three different contractors. We do the entire project from tear out to finish work.
I have had 6 newspaper articles written about the experience from the customer’s point of view. In each article the customer was pleased with the professionalism that we displayed and that we were always on the timeline that I provided to them prior to starting the job.
My interest include Jazz basketball, Utah Utes Football, Chicago Bears, golf, professional darts (steel tip and soft tip), watching my grandkids grow, helping my daughter and son-in-law out when possible and traveling with my wife and kids.
