Bill Groves
I started working with contractors installing garage doors and intercom systems in
1959 with Dave Martin, owner of Martin Doors. We installed in homes from Logan to
Nephi and I worked with them until 1962.
I left Martin Doors and went to work for Roberts Supply Co which distributed
building hardware, pre-hung doors, carpet, appliances, and cabinets. I worked for them
for 6 years where I was in charge of purchasing, warehousing, receiving and deliveries.
In 1968 I went to work for Lady Fair Kitchens were I sold cabinets for student
housing in Rexburg, Idaho, as well as homes all over Utah. I did many projects with
condos and apartments in St George during this time also.
For the next 30 years I worked for Karman Kitchens where I sold to contractors as
well as doing remolding projects. I was involved with many student housing projects that
included places such as Bozeman, Montana; Rexburg, Idaho; Pocatello, Idaho; Logan,
Utah; and Provo, Utah. I have designed approximately 10 parades of homes houses and
managed Karman’s Kitchen Center for 2 ½ years which gave me a lot of experience that
has helped me in many areas of my career.
I have been with Excel Cabinets now for the past 6 years and have enjoyed
continuing to design and work with many of the builders I have built loyalties with over
the years as well as designing for homeowners with many and varied cabinet and
countertop needs.
My personal hobbies and things I enjoy in life are camping, hunting and fishing. I
thoroughly enjoy traveling when possible and spending time with my family.
