Ben North

My name is Ben North and I have had the pleasure of being with Excel Cabinets for the last 2 ½ years.  Interestingly enough almost a decade and a half ago when our owner Tom first started the company, I was there to help unload trucks for Excel.  I take much pride in seeing the growth of such a great company from a small operation in the mid 90’s to a thriving well known force throughout the Wasatch Front.

I specialize in designing kitchen and bathroom layouts and am experienced in entertainment centers and furniture hutches.  I have a personal desire to make each design one that will utilize the most efficient and attractive layouts to meet the needs of each client I personally meet.  I pride myself in listening first to your needs and desires in hopes that my expertise can bridge the gap to make your needs a reality.  I also realize that we are all looking for the best product for our hard earned money, so I promise to have your best interests in mind to stay within your budget.

I have had over 10 years of design experience.  I started young with computer drafting with my grandfather who was an electrical engineer.  I had always had an interest in architecture from an early age.  During my college years, I worked for 4 years as a design assistant with an architectural firm doing mostly commercial work.  Realizing that my true passion came with residential construction, I worked for 2 ½ years doing custom home design.  I had designed both small ramblers and large estates and know what needs and possibilities need to be considered when working with the different styles and sizes.  I had the chance of working on homes in the Salt Lake and Utah County parade of homes.

I have attended my share of college education.  I have obtained degrees from Salt Lake Community College and the University of Utah in Science and Psychology.  I have attended Weber State to work on a Construction Management degree with a Business minor and am close to completing this as well.  My education has helped me in the career path I have chosen and has taught me much about myself and my career.

On a personal side, I am a proud father of three children who keep me active, and have the best wife that I could have asked for.  My family is important to me.  This is why I love what I do.  I have had many experiences helping families build or remodel the dream home they always wanted.  It pleases me to see the joy that comes from a job well done.  I believe that we offer the best service in the state and I am willing to bend over backwards to make your cabinet and countertop design process a positive experience.
